Laser Safety Program Kits and LSO Resources
LSC Laser Safety Kits provide employers and designated Laser Safety Officers with organized certification materials, assessments, completion records, reference documents, and program-support resources. Standardized kits are available for industrial, healthcare, and cosmetic settings, with bundles that combine a kit and online LSO certification.
Organizations needing site-specific review, priorities, and implementation tools can choose the Custom Compliance Program. These resources can support a broader laser safety program, but they do not replace site-specific hazard evaluation, equipment-specific procedures, control selection, PPE decisions, implementation, records, or ongoing program review.

For business owners, managers, and safety officers
Who need to certify multiple employees
Without losing time by sending people out for training
With our all-in-one Laser Safety Kit
The kit combines printed and digital certification materials, assessments, recordkeeping tools, reference documents, and program-support resources. It can support employee certification and documentation, but it does not establish complete facility compliance.
What Is Included in a Laser Safety Kit?
Each Laser Safety Kit includes physical and digital materials intended to help an employer organize certification delivery and documentation. Exact materials vary by kit, but the standard package includes:
- LSO refresher document
- Printed certification curriculum
- Student note handouts
- Assessments and answer key
- Certification record log
- Printable completion certificates
- Fillable SOP form for maintenance operations or documented procedures
- OSHA Technical Manual laser safety reference
- USB drive containing digital curriculum and supporting documents
The standardized kits do not contain completed site-specific hazard evaluations or finished equipment-specific procedures. Those materials depend on the facility, equipment, applications, personnel, and existing controls.

Laser Safety Kit Questions
What is a Laser Safety Kit?
A Laser Safety Kit is a physical and digital collection of certification, assessment, recordkeeping, reference, and program-support materials for an employer or designated Laser Safety Officer.
Who should use a Laser Safety Kit?
The kits are intended for employers, managers, supervisors, and designated LSOs responsible for providing certification, maintaining completion records, and supporting a broader laser safety program.
Does a Laser Safety Kit establish OSHA compliance?
No single kit or certification establishes complete facility compliance. The materials can support certification records and program documentation, while the employer remains responsible for site-specific evaluation, controls, procedures, PPE, implementation, and oversight.
Does the kit include site-specific laser procedures?
The standardized kits contain general certification and program-support materials. Equipment-specific operating procedures must reflect the facility’s actual lasers, applications, controls, and work practices. Organizations needing customized review and implementation tools should consider the Custom Compliance Program.
What is the difference between a kit and an LSO certification?
LSO certification provides structured education and an assessment for the designated individual. A Laser Safety Kit provides materials that can help the organization deliver certification, maintain records, and support program administration.
How much does a Laser Safety Kit cost?
The Industrial Laser Safety Kit is $299. Healthcare and Cosmetic Laser Safety Kits are $349 each. Bundles combining video LSO certification and a kit range from $399 to $499.
Is there a Veterinary Laser Safety Kit?
LSC currently offers standardized Industrial, Healthcare, and Cosmetic Laser Safety Kits. Veterinary facilities needing site-specific support can contact LSC to discuss the appropriate resources.

Standards Basis
LSC Laser Safety Kits contain standardized certification and program-support materials based on the ANSI Z136 guidance applicable to each setting:

- Healthcare and cosmetic kit materials reference ANSI Z136.3: Safe Use of Lasers in Health Care.
OSHA identifies the ANSI Z136 series as voluntary consensus guidance related to worker protection. These standards are not themselves OSHA regulations. See OSHA’s laser safety standards overview.
